>Your benefits will become effective October 1, 2011.

>New Teachers to the system this school year please call the Benefits Manager at 202-293-8617 to receive enrollment instructions.


>Retirees Open Enrollment is November1-30, 2011. Benefits will be effective January 1,2012.

DCPS BENEFITS INFORMATION FOR UNION MEMBERS

There’s no deduction made from your pay for your dental and/or optical benefits. Your negotiated contributions are paid by DCPS, however, if you are on leave for more than 10 days, for any reason, your premium payments will stop and you will be ineligible for the dental and/or optical benefits until you are back in active pay status.

Please be advised that union dues does NOT pay for your dental and optical benefits; these benefits are paid for by DC Government. However, you must enroll during open enrollment season in order to receive these benefits; it is NOT an automatic enrollment.

The WTU does not provide medical coverage for DCPS teachers.  You are covered by DCPS.  Any questions or concerns regarding these benefits should be directed to a Benefits Specialists at:
